This post is about my city

The praises and complains about the place I live in

This year

This city

Road full of holes

Resulted from various projects

That involves digging the roads inside out

But without proper resurfacing

Gosh

Potholes everywhere

Damaging to my car

A torture to drive along those roads

This year

This city

Jam here and there

Roads kept changing to one-way streets

Yet the situation has not changed

If PJ had a Rothmans Roundabout famed for it's congestion

Then Meru Roundabout is this city's version of Rothmans Roundabout

Rothmans Roundabout has since became history

But Meru Roundabout's congestion is still a mystery

This year

This city

Criminal cases happened

Although the same goes to everywhere around this country

But sometimes it chills me to the spine

To hear one happening near me

Flip through the newspapers today

You will encounter a news that an old man was sentenced to death

For slashing his neighbour to death with a parang

Just because of a noisy gate

This case happened in this city

I was like what the hell?

But look on the bright side

This year

This city

A pasar malam got officially recognized as 'The Longest Pasar Malam In Malaysia'

By the Book of Records

A -.-" record by the way

This year

This city

Finally opened it's first Subway and Chatime

Finally following the footsteps of neighbouring cities

And last but not least

This year on the very last day

This city for the first time ever had new year countdown concert

Cool huh?

But all that doesn't covers the ugly side of this city mentioned above

It's down to the city council to do their jobs

And I just hope that

Next year

I don't have to drive into a pothole

And experience a loud 'earthquake' in my car

And curse like hell after that

Here we are again

The last day of the year

Here I am again

On my blog

Time to review my year

Oh so special yet so normal

This year

I appeared on TV for the first time ever

When the show I acted in last year

Goes on air in January

Appeared in a few episodes

And had quite some dialogues

Had some kind of sense of achievement

When I saw myself on TV

This year

Had a great Chinese New Year

Super duper 'ONG'

Made a small fortune out of...

Well you know it

This year

Being in a drama crew for the very first time

Where working hours are long and odd

Certainly the most tired period of the year

Ever since then

For every single movie or drama that I watch

I had a very different perspective from normal viewers

In certain scenes

I will think of how hard the backstage crew worked

To get that particular scene

Been there

Done that

And know what it's like

This year

I switched from Sony Ericsson K810

To Samsung Galaxy Ace

Smartphone used to seem something out of this world for me

But I got one in my hands

Took a while to figure it out and get used to it

But gosh...

Sometimes till now I still wonder what on earth are smartphones

This year

I got my Diploma cert

Studied 2 and a half years

To get that piece of paper

Stepped into KDU College

For perhaps the very last time

Oh wait...

It is now KDU University College

This year

I switched from a worker

Back to a student

Degree in Broadcasting this time

Once again going to a university without a single familiar face

I'm all alone

But not for long

Because

This year

I got a bunch of new buddies

Going places together

Doing assignments together

Helped me settled down pretty well in a new environment

This year

I found a special one

My other half

Should I say third time lucky?

But she's special

One of a kind

That caught my eye

This year

I went to Langkawi

One of my favourite local destinations

An island where mountain and sea sat close to each other

Escape from the busy city life

And dunk into the waters of the sea and trees of the jungle

This year

For the first time I really felt assignment stress

In the past

If you told me that one day I will drive all the way to Sekinchan just to take photos

I would probably give you that 'Yao Ming' face and say

F**k that s**t

But this time around

I would have to say I did that

Just for assignment purposes

This year

Is so special

Yet so normal

So complicated

Yet so simple

The Sea and Me

I am not a beach boy

I ain't gonna act like I'm one

I don't have what it takes to be one as well

But I love the beach

More so the sea

I love putting my sight on the horizon line

Where sky and sea meets

It's like looking towards infinity

And beyond

That intense feeling of freedom

Is what makes me love the sea

Short Sem

听起来似很轻松

因为很短

不过其实就是Long Sem的东西在Short Sem的时间内做完

所以相对来说

Short Sem绝对比较辛苦

从对时间表的不满

到一连串接二连三的功课

搞到人较乱，心较烦，脾气较暴躁

难得在赶功课时拍了一张没什么特别意思的照

也难得抽到时间写下这篇文章

才发现这照片挺符合这篇文章的意思的

当太阳太绚丽的照着我的时候

我却不大能够看到我自己

当人生太忙碌的时候

我们会错过很多东西

It's the time when lots of thoughts comes to mind

Journey To The Jewel

Escape from the city

Embark on a journey

Take me across the sea

And reach Pulau Langkawi

If Penang is my favourite holiday destination in Malaysia because of it's food

Then Langkawi is my second favourite because of it's completeness

Natural beauty

Man-made marvels

Green mountains

Blue sea

White sandy beaches (and even a black one)

It's almost the complete package

Minus the presence of special food

They don't call Langkawi the Jewel of Kedah for no reason

This is my second time there

First trip there with friends

Previous trip was with family 7 years ago

My footsteps all around the island

Recorded in pictures

Oriental Village and Cable Car

Designed like a big garden compound

With shops, cafes, ponds, bridges, as well as animal farms

And scenic mountains as the backdrop of the whole place

Mountains whose peak could be reached by a cable car from the village

But I don't like the idea of cable cars

Not even the ones in Genting Highlands

So I did not went up

Instead I look up the mountains from below

It's beautiful

Seven Wells Waterfall (Air Terjun Telaga Tujuh)

On one side you have a waterfall

On the other side you have a great view of the faraway mountains and even the sea

The only downside of this place

Is that to reach here

You have to hike quite a distance of stairs

Which in turn are pretty steep and energy draining

But in return

You get what I wrote in the first 2 sentence

Telaga Habour Park

A man made marina

The spot of many private yachts

Had lunch at the nearby Petronas' KFC

Perhaps the best KFC in Malaysia in terms of view

Cenang Beach (Pantai Cenang)

The Batu Ferringhi of Langkawi

A beach full of tourist and beach activities

Perhaps not the most beautiful beach on the island

But certainly the most crowded

You could be in for a shopping spree at the shops by the road along the beach too

Kilim Geoforest Park

A park which we did not enter

Because it involves a boat journey

In which we weren't prepare for

This is the jetty

On a river that leads out to the sea

Rate: Unknown

Air Hangat Hot Springs

Quite a big letdown

It seems like the place were closed down for maintenance

Or abandoned completely

The hot springs is small

And the water ain't hot

7 years ago when I went there

It was much better

And understandably the place was much more crowded then

Tanjung Rhu Beach

To me

A beach is not just about sand and sea

It's also about the view

The trees

The faraway islands

And so

This is my favourite beach

The above pictures says it all

Mountains and seas

Look further from the beach

You could also see an island which is part of Thailand

Had Nasi Goreng Kampung as lunch in a wooden shed under the palm trees by the beach here

What a nice atmosphere

Black Sand Beach

Legend has it all

But science still couldn't fully explain

If it wasn't for the black sand

This beach would just be like any other beach

Temurun Waterfall (Air Terjun Temurun)

A fascinating 30 meter waterfall

The tallest waterfall in Langkawi

The amount of of waterflow is highest in September to October

We came at the right time

And this time around we don't have to hike till we sigh (refering to Seven Wells)

As it's just by the roadside

The water is freezing cold by my standards

I did not swim in the waterfall pool

But that didn't stop me from enjoying the splash of the waterfall

This is the best waterfall I've ever been to

And the 3rd picture here is the best picture I've ever taken

Underwater World Langkawi

I know it

You know it

We all know it

A place where you find all those familiar and unfamiliar fishes and sea creatures

The penguinarium was a sight to behold

A place worth going for first timers

But not so much for second timers and so on

Those are the places that mark my Langkawi trip

Isn't it ironic that the 2 places that got my highest rating

Is also relatively not as famous as other places on the list?

Maybe like what some said

The unknown is always better?

说起旧街场

总是先想到

槟城

马六甲

怡保

甚至吉隆坡的茨厂街

这些地方的老店

对我来说很有味道

充满上一代甚至更早的马来西亚华人的味道

人

偏偏就是向往离自己远的东西

而不留意自己身边的东西

我在巴生长大

也常忘了其实巴生也是其中一个古早的华人聚集点

以上照片里的老店

坐车时不懂经过了多少次

不过就是没留意到

那天下车到街上其中一间相框店

才发觉到这排店

其实也很有那‘槟城马六甲’的味道

少的只是集会的人群

和警方的封锁

我是支持的

老实说

政府对此事真的太看不开了

组织

是非政党性质

宗旨

就只是要个公平选举

可是我们的好政府

却说该组织被反对党利用

之后还把他们当作反对党来看待

最后甚至干脆把他们列为非法组织

该组织要求个公平选举

这目的也不过分啊

试想想

论全国票数加起来

投给执政党的和反对党的各有差不多一半

是很接近的

不过

看看国会议席

执政党接近三分二

反对党只有三分一

票数和议席根本不成正比

可见得我们选举委员会在分配议席方面是多么的’厉害‘

地区A

人口10000

一路来是反对党强区

所以给他们1个国会议席

反对党再怎么赢都只有1个议席

地区B

人口5000

一路来是执政党强区

所以把这5000人一分为二

形成2个国会议席各2500人

这样执政党就可以赢得2个议席

公平吗？

不赞成街头示威

可以理解

Bersih组织答应移至体育场举行

不过最后还是没拿到准证

Bersih之所以一早就宣布集会

就是希望政府一人让一步

希望政府给他们一个平台

给他们一个适合的场所进行和平及安全的集会

也让警方可以维持秩序

不过政府就是看不开

知道他们要集会后

就拼命压制

不给他们一丝生存空间

政府啊

你们有没有想过

Bersih大可以秘密筹备集会

不做任何宣布

直到那一天他们的成员集体突然涌现在吉隆坡街头

进行示威

把你们吓个措手不及呢？

一周后

网上还流传着当天一些丑陋的画面

这些我全不谈

心知肚明

一周后

我怎么想都还是想不通

为什么政府怎么想也想不开呢？

Degree life is pushing my temperature up to 40 degrees

Barely had time to breath

Let alone updating my blog

But here I am

And here I stand

Having a break

Surfing the net

Listening to songs

Watching epic videos

As the saying goes

You rest because you wanna go further

So no harm taking a break

Recalled this advertisement sometime during the day

Saw it few years back on Youtube

It was epic

A boy walked towards a vending machine

Bought 2 Coca-Colas

Used them as a stepping stone to reach the Pepsi button situated higher up

At first I though it must be a Coca-Cola ad

Turns out to be a Pepsi ad

But the irony is

The boy bought 2 Cokes

While he only bought 1 Pepsi

Who's da winner?

And I doubt one could find a vending machine that sells both Pepsi and Coke

That means we spent 1/3 of a day sleeping

昨天晚上

特地大老远从巴生去到八打灵Seapark吃Nasi Lemak

当初听朋友说那里的Nasi Lemak好吃

觉得蛮好笑的

为什么那么多食物

偏偏就是最普通的Nasi Lemak好吃呢？

Nasi Lemak不是哪里都大同小异的咩？

其实

我在这里也可以挖出道理

我们常常在生活上兜兜转转

死都要找出自己特别之处

就像要开店做生意的

一定都在想要创造什么新奇的东西

吸引顾客

有时想想

与其绞尽脑汁创造特别的东西

不如在别人往往会忽略掉的普通东西

花点心思搞好它

就在大家都在努力推出一些奇奇怪怪的食物吸引顾客时

这家不起眼的后巷小摊子把最原始最普通的Nasi Lemak

搞到每一座每个人都只吃Nasi Lemak不吃别的

这的确有值得商讨的过人之处

能把最普通的东西搞成最不普通的人

才是最特别

当然我不忘给那里的Nasi Lemak评语：

好吃

哪里跌倒，就哪里爬起来

记得这位倒数天王吗？

轰动了一时

冷却了下来

不过从中得到的领悟

I am a journeyman

I've also seen drivers honk impatiently during the jam

Come on

If the car in front couldn't move

Sounding the honk doesn't make it move okay?

Everybody is same like everybody

Stuck

Since traffic jams are inevitable

No point complaining and whining

I'm just gonna make it as enjoyable as it could possibly be

I'm not saying that I like traffic jams

Or I hate traffic jams

I'm just feeling numb about it

There are always things we could do to make bad situations not that bad

While I'm in a jam

You wouldn't want to get into my car for two reasons

Number one

The volume of the radio will be kinda loud

Number two

I will be singing out loud to the radio

Well you know my singing

But no one's gonna judge when I'm alone in my car

For me

It's like having my own little concert every time I'm on my journey

Today

I did more along my journey home

I self-took pictures of myself

Now I'll let those pictures tell the story

More like the songs I sing are based on what they play

I was going at 80km/h when I self-took this

Indeed I'm a little crazy

Took this while waiting for the traffic light to turn green

Always looking for the perfect angle

The final obstacle in my journey back home

Today

I started my journey home at 6pm sharp

I reached home at 7:15pm

That's 75 minutes for a supposedly 35 minute journey

But then

That wasn't really that bad after all

Like I said

Things ain't that bad if you didn't make it feel that bad

I Want To Buy Colgate!

Have you noticed

People say: I want to buy Colgate.

And they went to the store and took a Darlie or a Fresh&White?

This is because when they say Colgate

They are actually referring to toothpaste

To them toothpaste is Colgate

Another example

How often do we hear people say

I want to buy instant noodles

Bet even we ourselves would feel weird if we say that

We would simply say

I want to buy Maggi

Although we might actually want to buy Cintan or Mamee

These are examples of the name of the brand overwhelms the product

Till the point that the brand seemingly becomes a product

Now we have

Iridescence actually means

The changing of colour of the surface of certain things when you look at it from different angles

Like soap bubbles

The inner surface of seashells

And peacock tails

The colour of these things seem to change

So does Linkin Park over the years

I've followed Linkin Park and their songs since they started

Back then

Their songs follow a certain format

Mike raps

Then Chester sings

Mike raps again

Then Chester sings again

Then Chester shouts

And finally Chester sings again

They were alternative back then

Alternative means appealing to only a special group of fans

While others would not like their songs

These days lots of people say that they went mainstream

Their songs became just like any pop songs you listen on the radio

Chester doesn't shout that often anymore

Made it easier on the ears

And that one thing that distinguished Linkin Park from other bands in the past

Was the use of two lead vocalists

Where one raps and one sings

This specialty was blurred these days

At times Mike's rap disappeared totally

In songs like 'Breaking The Habit', 'What I've Done', 'Shadow of the Day'

At times Mike is singing

Like in 'Iridescent'

At times Mike even sounded like Sean Kingston

Like in 'Waiting for the End'

And at times Mike actually even sounded like Chester

Which was unimaginable back then when they sound totally different

Like in the song 'The Catalyst'

Yes I do feel that they transformed in their recent songs

But that doesn't mean that they went mainstream

Despite the fact that their old songs could not be sang by other bands

Because it involves too much shouting that only Chester could handle

While their new songs sounded like everybody could sing it

Their lyrics remain one of a kind

They write their own songs which has meanings unique only to them

Linkin Park is iridescent

They changes and transforms

We should be iridescent too

We should also change and transform according to times

时隔九个月

又回到求学生涯

这回为的是一张degree cert了

过去那九个月

做幕后时

被吩咐做这个任务那个任务

感觉自己长大成人了

有工作要负责了

做台前时

更不得了

拍戏流汗还有人帮我抹汗

感觉自己像个明星了

前天上课时

Lecturer讲解我们需要做的assignments

咦？

突然惊觉自己变回学生了

老实说挺不习惯的

不过不管工作还是读书

做好本份就是了

又是个新地方了

对于每个新地方

住在巴生又每天来回的我

其中一个最先需要探索的是

使用的路线

巴生谷的交通很发达

从一个地方到另一个地方

总是有很多种路线

不过巴生谷的交通也很不发达

不管我走哪一个路线

上下班时间总是要塞上一轮

分别在于塞车的程度罢了

我还在探索

从我家到UTAR

在不同的时间需要用哪一个路线

才比较划算

一个路线

路程是最短的

不过也是最塞车的

另一条路线

路程长很多

不过不会过份塞车

每天出门时都要烦

这个时候该走哪一个路线呢？

应该搏路程短的没那么塞车？

还是选路程长但较顺畅的？

如果选了路程长的却发现一样的塞

倒不如选路程较短的来给它塞？

好难做选择哦

不过

这只是我们日常生活上需做的其中一样小小的抉择

有时候需稳扎稳打

有时候需放手一搏

当自己不是自己生活里的主角的时候

常有人说

人生就像一场戏嘛

而自己

就是故事里主角

可是

你是否曾有觉得自己不是生活里的主角的时候？

曾经一段时间

我脑海里全是她

这个她有一个不是我的他

那时思想和生活作息都被她牵引

心想的是

‘不知她最近好吗‘

’她和他现在怎样了‘

’是天衣无缝还是有机可乘’

常常想要怎样证明些什么给她看

想着想着

变到他和她成了生活里的男女主角

而自己成了配角

自己的故事全围绕在他们的故事发展

其实

当自己不是自己生活里的主角的感觉

是蛮可悲的

不过还好随着情节的发展

他们在我生活的戏份越来越少

而自己抢回了男主角的位置

而她

也不再是女主角了

其实做自己生活里的主角

换句话说

就是为自己而活

这是好也是坏

好的是说不再为不该烦恼的事烦恼

坏的是说变成有点自私

但是有时候

世界是实际的

还是要先对自己好

再对别人好

才不会吃亏

对别人好，但不是被牵引

还蛮难拿捏的

当自己的生活作息被人牵引的时候

自己会变成配角

And he got axed

Because he is only as good as today

Of course this doesn't only apply to sports and work

For example if you are a good driver who obey all driving rules all these while

Today you got a summon for speeding

Then people will say you are a bad driver

All these because

The verse sound like a typical old Avril Lavigne song

The punk rock feel which has become lesser in attendance in her songs these days

Meanwhile the chorus I would say it's brilliant

In fact I think it's one of the catchiest chorus of all her songs

Made it into my top 5 all-time favourite Avril songs

Alongside 'My Happy Ending', 'Complicated', 'I'm With You', and 'Innocence'

Speaking about smile

I often encounter buddies asking me

I reply

I know this is lame

But seriously

We should all smile more

After all we all wanna look good right?

Perfect situation or worst case scenario

You could still choose to see it as half-glass full or half-glass empty

Even in the tiniest thing in life

For example

It's the day after the rumoured doomsday

And I'm here writing this

It could have been a lot worse isn't it?

Hearts Over Brains?

Often we encounter hearts vs brains moments

When we are in a situation

Our first instinct always come from our hearts

Before our brain acts to counter our instincts

Sometimes after we acted according to our hearts

Somehow we have to make a decision

回到剧组一日游

前天

也就是刚刚过去的这个星期日

我回到了之前忙到不亦乐乎的剧组

那次在剧组的点滴收录>>>在此<<<

这次回到剧组

是因为上回用了我的车做戏里某个角色的车

而这回为了‘连戏’要拍到该角色的车

所以我得回去‘贡献’我的车了

行外人可能不清楚什么是连戏

其实连戏大概是指不同时候拍摄的戏

用的东西还是需要有连贯

比如说某一幕拍到小强从家里开一辆Myvi要到餐厅吃饭

之后就要拍小强到达餐厅

一定也要是开着Myvi到达餐厅对不对？

可是这两幕可能是隔了好几个礼拜拍的哦

要连戏就是这个意思啦

这次回到剧组

是隔了几个礼拜的时间

其实工作人员也换了一大半

还在的就‘Long time no see'

新加入未见过的就‘Nice to meet you'

与之前不同的是

由于不是工作人员

所以心情还是比较轻松的

不过大半天闲着没事干

竟然当起了半个工作人员

帮忙搬了一些东西

工作时这些是责任及工作的一部分

现在不是工作了

这些变成是自愿帮帮忙旧同事

Feel是不一样的哦

哈哈

毕竟合作过两个星期

当做是探班聚一聚也蛮不错的

当天除了我的车子成为了‘演员’之外

我也捞到了一个小角色来客串一下

讲了两句话

而且是大声骂人的话

之后就消失

哇

好久没有那摄影机镜头对着自己的感觉了

还是会紧张

就两句话

所以我当然会珍惜

讲得淋漓尽致啦

由于是骂人的话

所以有几大声就骂几大声

表情有几凶就几凶

结果好像吓到了几位前同事

他们应该是没想到我能够扮得那么凶吧

最欣慰的是

在戏中被我骂的演员

之后对我说了

‘哇Jentzon, 不错啊’

想不到我参与幕后工作的第一部连续剧

不只让我看到和学到新东西

还造就了我继《追影。筑梦》后第二次在连续剧的出现哦
