I dream

That I'm the drummer of a rock band

Hitting the drums as hard as I could

In a huge concert in front of thousands

I dream

That I'm a superstar actor

Landing in an airport

Where thousands are calling my name when I emerge from the arrival gate

I dream

That I'm a professional footballer

Roaming up and down the pitch

And score goals like nobody's business

I dream

That I'm an astronaut

Be the first person to land on Mars

Or is it?

I dream

That I'm a backpacker

Around the world in 80 days

Alone

I dream

That I'm an European

Living in cities like Milan, Madrid, Paris, London, or Vienna

Or at least a place where it snows

I dream

That I'm powerful

Do whatever I want

According to my wish

I dream

That I'm an evil killer

With no feelings of remorse

So that I can kill whoever that I hate without guilt

I dream

That I'm a hero without superpowers

Someone who just manages to survive the greatest disasters

So that I have a great story to tell

I dream

That I could go back in time

And live in the age

When choosing which colour to colour my colouring book is my biggest dilemma

I dream

That I can jump straight to the future

And skip all hardships in the process

To be the person I wanna be

This Year: This City

A double dose of blog posts

On the final day of the year

I had a post about me

The highs and lows of my year

This post is about my city

The praises and complains about the place I live in

This year

This city

Road full of holes

Resulted from various projects

That involves digging the roads inside out

But without proper resurfacing

Gosh

Potholes everywhere

Damaging to my car

A torture to drive along those roads

This year

This city

Jam here and there

Roads kept changing to one-way streets

Yet the situation has not changed

If PJ had a Rothmans Roundabout famed for it's congestion

Then Meru Roundabout is this city's version of Rothmans Roundabout

Rothmans Roundabout has since became history

But Meru Roundabout's congestion is still a mystery

This year

This city

Criminal cases happened

Although the same goes to everywhere around this country

But sometimes it chills me to the spine

To hear one happening near me

Flip through the newspapers today

You will encounter a news that an old man was sentenced to death

For slashing his neighbour to death with a parang

Just because of a noisy gate

This case happened in this city

I was like what the hell?

But look on the bright side

This year

This city

A pasar malam got officially recognized as 'The Longest Pasar Malam In Malaysia'

By the Book of Records

A -.-" record by the way

This year

This city

Finally opened it's first Subway and Chatime

Finally following the footsteps of neighbouring cities

And last but not least

This year on the very last day

This city for the first time ever had new year countdown concert

Cool huh?

But all that doesn't covers the ugly side of this city mentioned above

It's down to the city council to do their jobs

And I just hope that

Next year

I don't have to drive into a pothole

And experience a loud 'earthquake' in my car

And curse like hell after that

This Year

Here we are again

The last day of the year

Here I am again

On my blog

Time to review my year

Oh so special yet so normal

This year

I appeared on TV for the first time ever

When the show I acted in last year

Goes on air in January

Appeared in a few episodes

And had quite some dialogues

Had some kind of sense of achievement

When I saw myself on TV

This year

Had a great Chinese New Year

Super duper 'ONG'

Made a small fortune out of...

Well you know it

This year

Being in a drama crew for the very first time

Where working hours are long and odd

Certainly the most tired period of the year

Ever since then

For every single movie or drama that I watch

I had a very different perspective from normal viewers

In certain scenes

I will think of how hard the backstage crew worked

To get that particular scene

Been there

Done that

And know what it's like

This year

I switched from Sony Ericsson K810

To Samsung Galaxy Ace

Smartphone used to seem something out of this world for me

But I got one in my hands

Took a while to figure it out and get used to it

But gosh...

Sometimes till now I still wonder what on earth are smartphones

This year

I got my Diploma cert

Studied 2 and a half years

To get that piece of paper

Stepped into KDU College

For perhaps the very last time

Oh wait...

It is now KDU University College

This year

I switched from a worker

Back to a student

Degree in Broadcasting this time

Once again going to a university without a single familiar face

I'm all alone

But not for long

Because

This year

I got a bunch of new buddies

Going places together

Doing assignments together

Helped me settled down pretty well in a new environment

This year

I found a special one

My other half

Should I say third time lucky?

But she's special

One of a kind

That caught my eye

This year

I went to Langkawi

One of my favourite local destinations

An island where mountain and sea sat close to each other

Escape from the busy city life

And dunk into the waters of the sea and trees of the jungle

This year

For the first time I really felt assignment stress

In the past

If you told me that one day I will drive all the way to Sekinchan just to take photos

I would probably give you that 'Yao Ming' face and say

F**k that s**t

But this time around

I would have to say I did that

Just for assignment purposes

This year

Is so special

Yet so normal

So complicated

Yet so simple

The Sea and Me

I am not a beach boy

I ain't gonna act like I'm one

I don't have what it takes to be one as well

But I love the beach

More so the sea

I love putting my sight on the horizon line

Where sky and sea meets

It's like looking towards infinity

And beyond

That intense feeling of freedom

Is what makes me love the sea

Short Sem

听起来似很轻松

因为很短

不过其实就是Long Sem的东西在Short Sem的时间内做完

所以相对来说

Short Sem绝对比较辛苦

从对时间表的不满

到一连串接二连三的功课

搞到人较乱，心较烦，脾气较暴躁

难得在赶功课时拍了一张没什么特别意思的照

也难得抽到时间写下这篇文章

才发现这照片挺符合这篇文章的意思的

当太阳太绚丽的照着我的时候

我却不大能够看到我自己

当人生太忙碌的时候

我们会错过很多东西

Nocturnal

Like an owl

Staying up late at night

Waking up late in the morning

But I like being nocturnal

It's the time when lots of thoughts comes to mind

Journey To The Jewel

Escape from the city

Embark on a journey

Take me across the sea

And reach Pulau Langkawi

If Penang is my favourite holiday destination in Malaysia because of it's food

Then Langkawi is my second favourite because of it's completeness

Natural beauty

Man-made marvels

Green mountains

Blue sea

White sandy beaches (and even a black one)

It's almost the complete package

Minus the presence of special food

They don't call Langkawi the Jewel of Kedah for no reason

This is my second time there

First trip there with friends

Previous trip was with family 7 years ago

My footsteps all around the island

Recorded in pictures

Oriental Village and Cable Car

Designed like a big garden compound

With shops, cafes, ponds, bridges, as well as animal farms

And scenic mountains as the backdrop of the whole place

Mountains whose peak could be reached by a cable car from the village

But I don't like the idea of cable cars

Not even the ones in Genting Highlands

So I did not went up

Instead I look up the mountains from below

It's beautiful

Seven Wells Waterfall (Air Terjun Telaga Tujuh)

On one side you have a waterfall

On the other side you have a great view of the faraway mountains and even the sea

The only downside of this place

Is that to reach here

You have to hike quite a distance of stairs

Which in turn are pretty steep and energy draining

But in return

You get what I wrote in the first 2 sentence

Telaga Habour Park

A man made marina

The spot of many private yachts

Had lunch at the nearby Petronas' KFC

Perhaps the best KFC in Malaysia in terms of view

Cenang Beach (Pantai Cenang)

The Batu Ferringhi of Langkawi

A beach full of tourist and beach activities

Perhaps not the most beautiful beach on the island

But certainly the most crowded

You could be in for a shopping spree at the shops by the road along the beach too

Kilim Geoforest Park

A park which we did not enter

Because it involves a boat journey

In which we weren't prepare for

This is the jetty

On a river that leads out to the sea

Rate: Unknown

Air Hangat Hot Springs

Quite a big letdown

It seems like the place were closed down for maintenance

Or abandoned completely

The hot springs is small

And the water ain't hot

7 years ago when I went there

It was much better

And understandably the place was much more crowded then

Tanjung Rhu Beach

To me

A beach is not just about sand and sea

It's also about the view

The trees

The faraway islands

And so

This is my favourite beach

The above pictures says it all

Mountains and seas

Look further from the beach

You could also see an island which is part of Thailand

Had Nasi Goreng Kampung as lunch in a wooden shed under the palm trees by the beach here

What a nice atmosphere

Black Sand Beach

Legend has it all

But science still couldn't fully explain

If it wasn't for the black sand

This beach would just be like any other beach

Temurun Waterfall (Air Terjun Temurun)

A fascinating 30 meter waterfall

The tallest waterfall in Langkawi

The amount of of waterflow is highest in September to October

We came at the right time

And this time around we don't have to hike till we sigh (refering to Seven Wells)

As it's just by the roadside

The water is freezing cold by my standards

I did not swim in the waterfall pool

But that didn't stop me from enjoying the splash of the waterfall

This is the best waterfall I've ever been to

And the 3rd picture here is the best picture I've ever taken

Underwater World Langkawi

I know it

You know it

We all know it

A place where you find all those familiar and unfamiliar fishes and sea creatures

The penguinarium was a sight to behold

A place worth going for first timers

But not so much for second timers and so on

Those are the places that mark my Langkawi trip

Isn't it ironic that the 2 places that got my highest rating

Is also relatively not as famous as other places on the list?

Maybe like what some said

The unknown is always better?

Anyway

Had a great trip
